The Bureau of Industry & Security (BIS) shared the U.S. Department of State announcement of a limited waiver of the SAA (Syria Accountability & Lebanese Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2003) to allow certain items – under a license – for the benefit of the Syrian people.
The waiver allows the BIS to issue licenses on a case-by-case basis on items that would be critical in helping the Syrian People and assist in reconstruction.
BIS will publish an implementing regulation soon, but exporters may submit license applications now to be considered for the new waiver.
