West Coast Negotiations – Still Waiting
From JOC:
On August 26th, both sides reached a tentative agreement on the critical topic of medical benefits. Since then, the ILWU and PMA have likely been discussing operational issues with a goal to improving efficiency [PMA] and protecting jobs [ILWU].
Both sides have been really successful in maintaining a blackout on news; the only reports coming in the form of joint ILWU-PMA releases. As a result of the blackout, it is still uncertain how far away the parties are from an agreement. Even with all the uncertainties, cargo volumes have increased – up 6.2% in August.

Congestion: There is still congestion at Los Angeles / Long Beach terminals. However, at SeaTac the congestion seems to be diminishing.
