Company Fined for Anti-Boycott Violations
With two specific charges imposed by the BIS (Bureau of Industry & Security), a New Jersey company – Infinova Corporation, committed six violations of the Anti-Boycott Regulations in connection with shipments to United Arab Emirates:
- One Violation of 15 CFR: 760.2(d) – Furnishing Information about Business Relationships with Boycotted Countries or Blacklisted Persons.
- Five Violations of 15 CFR: 760.5 – Failing to report the Receipt of a Request to Engage in a Restrictive Trade Practice or Foreign Boycott Against a Country Friendly to the United States.
A civil penalty of $12,800 was assessed to Infinova Corporation with payment due within 30 days of the order. If the penalty is not paid in a timely manner, BIS may deny all of the company’s export privileges for one year.
