Full ISF Enforcement Begins May 14, 2015..
This Wednesday May 13th will mark the end of the “three-strikes” phase approach to ISF enforcement. The 12-month three-strike phase (limited liquidated damage – LD), also called “informed compliance outreach”, was created to better focus on repeat offenders and identify regions and ports with lower rates of compliance. Here is a summary of what will change:
- HQ will no longer review and approve Liquidated Damages (LD) before CBP Ports can issue them.
- Ports will no longer be under HQ mandate to issue three warnings before assessing LD.
CBP offered a “last educational outreach” via Webinar last week. Because this event reached maximum capacity almost immediately after being announced, CBP posted a recording of the Webinar last week. Check it out here – under previously recorded webinars
