BIS: Orders Denying Export Privileges
This month BIS (Bureau of Industry & Security) issued two orders denying export privileges.
- Quang Hu, a/k/a/ Johnson Ju was convicted on 7/24/2014 of violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act by knowingly and willfully conspired, combined, confederated and agreed with other persons known and unknown to cause the export of U.S. origin pressure transducers from the United States to end-users in China and elsewhere in violation of regulations. Hu was sentenced to 34 months in prison and a special assessment of $100.00.
Additionally, based on review, Hu is denied export privileges under Regulations for a period of 10 years from the date of Hu’s conviction – until July 24, 2024.
- Viacheslav Zhukov was convicted on 12/05/2014 of violating the International Emergency Economic Powers Act by knowingly and willfully conspired, combined, confederated and agreed to unlawfully export controlled firearm accessories from the United States to co-conspirators in Russia without obtaining an export license from the United States Department of Commerce. Zhukov was sentenced to 51 months in prison and a special assessment of $100.00.
Additionally, Zhukov is denied export privileges for a period of seven (7) years and three (3) months from the date of conviction [until 3/5/2022]. Plus all licenses are revoked issued pursuant to the Act of Regulations in which Zhukov had an interest at the time of his conviction.
