The Census Bureau recently announced this new AEI pilot:<\/p>\n

The AEI pilot is a voluntary program that enables U.S. Principal Parties in Interests (USPPIs) to obtain an Internal Transaction Number (ITN) after submitting a limited amount of data elements. This will allow companies to provide significantly less information before receiving an ITN. The USPPI then has five calendar days to submit the remaining Electronic Export Information (EEI).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The goal of this program is to give participants added\u00a0 flexibility while providing the government with the information needed for cargo screening. Click here to see What is Required Before Shipment Departure?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

What is the eligibility for the pilot:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Be a USPPI (sorry, no authorized agents)<\/li>\n
  2. Have 12 months of export reporting history<\/li>\n
  3. Report a minimum of ten shipments per month (we\u2019ll consider seasonal exporters on a case-by-case basis)<\/li>\n
  4. Have maintained an acceptable level of compliance over the past 12 months<\/li>\n
  5. Be compliant with all other federal regulations related to international trade<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    In order to be considered for the AEI pilot program, read the AEI Pilot Application Process and Acceptance <\/strong>section in the federal register notice. <\/a><\/p>\n

    Applications will be accepted until April 1, 2014.<\/p>\n
