Specifically, Maple Pacific willfully exported and transshipped goods [industrial parts used to maintain equipment in the steel manufacturing industry] from the United States to Iran without obtaining a license or written authorization, knowing such a license or authorization was required.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to fines and assessments, the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS)\u00a0provided notice and an opportunity for Maple Pacific to make a written notice submission to the BIS per the Regulations (766.25). Since BIS\u00a0did not receive a submission from Maple Pacific, the decision was\u00a0 made to deny Maple Pacific&#8217;s export privileges for ten (10) years from the date of Maple Pacific&#8217;s conviction. The decision was also made to revoke all licenses pursuant to the Act or Regulations in which Maple Pacific had an interest at the time of its conviction.<\/p>\n<p>Denial of Export Privileges of Related Person Andrew Hsu<\/p>\n<p>BIS gave notice to Andrew Hsu\u00a0[the owner of Maple Pacific] that his export privileges could be denied for up to ten (10) years due to his relationship with Maple Pacific and that naming Hsu as a person related to Maple Pacific would be necessary to prevent evasion of a denial order imposed against Maple Pacific.
