{"id":4012,"date":"2015-09-18T08:56:51","date_gmt":"2015-09-18T13:56:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/supfrt.com\/news\/?p=4012"},"modified":"2015-09-18T08:56:51","modified_gmt":"2015-09-18T13:56:51","slug":"census-bureau-tips-on-how-to-resolve-aes-fatal-errors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/supfrt.com\/news\/2015\/09\/18\/census-bureau-tips-on-how-to-resolve-aes-fatal-errors\/","title":{"rendered":"Census Bureau: Tips on How to Resolve AES Fatal Errors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/supfrt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/aeslogo1-e1396022053651.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-792\" src=\"http:\/\/supfrt.com\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/04\/aeslogo1-e1396022053651.gif\" alt=\"aeslogo[1]\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Census Bureau: Tips on How to Resolve AES Fatal Errors<\/p>\n<p>When a shipment is filed to the AES,\u00a0a system response message is generated and indicates whether the shipment has been accepted or rejected.\u00a0 If the shipment is accepted, the AES filer receives an Internal Transaction Number (ITN) as confirmation.\u00a0 However, if the shipment is rejected, a Fatal Error\u00a0notification is received.<\/p>\n<p>To help you resolve AES Fatal Errors, here are some tips on how to correct the most frequent errors that were generated in AES for this month.<\/p>\n<h3>Fatal Error Response Code: 110<\/h3>\n<p>Narrative:\u00a0State of Origin Unknown<\/p>\n<p>Reason:\u00a0\u00a0The U.S. State of Origin indicated is not valid in AES.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resolution:\u00a0<\/strong><strong>The U.S. State of Origin Code must be a valid two-character U.S. state, territory, or possession code (i.e., any USPS code).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Verify the State of Origin, correct the shipment and resubmit.<strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Fatal Error Response Code: 146<\/h3>\n<p>Narrative:\u00a0 US to PR Requires PR Port of Unlading<\/p>\n<p>Reason:\u00a0\u00a0The Port of Unlading Code reported is not a port in Puerto Rico.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resolution: <\/strong><strong>A valid Port of Unlading Code must be reported for all vessel and air shipments between the U.S. and Puerto Rico.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Verify the Port of Unlading and\/or Mode of Transportation, correct the shipment and resubmit.<strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For a complete list of Fatal Error Response Codes, their reasons, and resolutions, see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbp.gov\/sites\/default\/files\/documents\/AESTIR_AppendixA.pdf\">Appendix A &#8211; Commodity Filing Response Messages<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It is important that AES filers correct Fatal Errors as soon as they are received in order to comply with the Foreign Trade Regulations.
