Minnesota is opening a Trade Office in the Dusseldorf-Cologne area of Germany to help increase Export opportunities. This news was announced yesterday by Minnesota Officials.
Germany was Minnesota’s 5th largest trading partner in 2012, accounting for approx $728 million in sales.
There are 2 more locations in the works.
“As Minnesota continues to compete on a global scale, increasing exports and attracting new foreign direct investment are top priorities in our roadmap to long-term economic success,” said Katie Clark Sieben, commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. “Germany’s central location in Europe and its strong economy make this region an excellent choice for one of our new trade offices.”
