Ukraine Protests – at least two killed – Two protesters have been killed in clashes with police in the Ukrainian capital Kiev. Other reports are indicating more than two have been killed and many wounded in battles with police.

17 December: Russia agrees to buy $15bn (£9.2bn, 11bn euros) of Ukrainian government bonds and slash the price of gas
22 January 2014: Two protesters die from bullet wounds during clashes with police in Kiev
Though there have been talks with the government with all the factions of the anti-government protesters, there is still not resolution.
With all this violence in the Ukraine, it is interesting that on January 22nd is Unity Day – a National Holiday in the Ukraine.
