In past,\u00a0wages and safety issues were usually resolved with little\u00a0conflict. From JOC:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"normal\">Jurisdiction, however, is becoming more important because technology and automation are changing the workplace environment, with some jobs being eliminated and other jobs being created that require special skill sets.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"normal\">Both sides, ILWU and PMA are struggling\u00a0with the Cadillac tax that will take effect\u00a02018.
