An arbitrator has ruled that ILWU members at LA-Long Beach must return to work after refusing to cross picket lines set up by the Teamsters union at two terminals at the Port of Los Angeles, according to the Long Beach Press Telegram.<\/p>\n

Members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union had walked off their jobs about 9 a.m. at Evergreen and APL terminals in the Port of Los Angeles today.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Yesterday, later in the day, the Teamsters did set-up picket lines. Today, the ILWU honored the Teamster picket line resulting in arbitrator ruling that it was illegal and ordered the ILWU back to work. One of the reasons for the ruling is that the union contract was extended for one week.<\/p>\n

Additionally, both sides have agreed to take a 72-hour break in negotiations due to \u201can unrelated negotiation\u201d by the union. Read more<\/a><\/p>\n
