China’s Logistical Strength Moves Inland with Manufacturing.\"China\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As China has begun to shift many manufacturing plants inland, the Airports in that Region have seen increases in freight that puts them on a level playing field with Shanghai. If you take into account the freight that moves into Shanghai and delivers to these inland cities as well, you are looking at a large shift in the manufacturing and logistic power in China.<\/p>\n

The shift of manufacturing production to China\u2019s interior provinces in search of lower labor, land and power costs is now being reflected in air cargo<\/a> movements as well as ocean volumes.<\/p>\n

Research by CAPA \u2014 Centre for Aviation shows that uplift volumes from the fast growing cities tagged the \u201cThree Cs\u201d \u2014 Chengdu<\/a>, Chongqing<\/a> and Zhengzhou, the latter named after its airport code CGO \u2014 all saw high levels of growth in 2012. Together the three airports now handle more cargo than China\u2019s main air cargo market of Shanghai.<\/p>\n
