It has 17,859 20-foot-equivalent unit capacity.<\/p>\n<p>The Benjamin Franklin will be handled at APM Terminals Pier 400 in Los Angeles. This port (as well as the Ports America Outer Harbour Terminal\u00a0in Oakland) can currently handle\u00a013,000 to 14,000 TEU&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.joc.com\/maritime-news\/container-lines\/cma-cgm\/mega-ship-era-hits-trans-pacific-trade_20151214.html\">JOC<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The peaking effect associated with the large ships hasn&#8217;t happened yet,&#8221; Widdows said at the JOC&#8217;s TPM Asia conference in Shenzhen. &#8220;The amount of capacity coming is enormous and will play out over\u00a0the next couple years, and the pressure these carriers will be under from a profitability standpoint will be significant.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>With the\u00a0Mega-ships, there will be\u00a0operational issues as it will put more pressure on chassis &amp;\u00a0more pressure on trucks.
