Delta Airlines has submitted their application to the U.S. Department of Transportation for additional flights from New York and Atlanta to Sao Paulo, Brazil. They are committed to increasing options in the Latin American market.
“This is the first time in more than a decade that the Department of Transportation has the opportunity to allocate new Sao Paulo frequencies. These opportunities arise as direct result of the U.S. government’s success in negotiating a new air service agreement with Brazil, which is expected to result in a full Open Skies agreement by 2015.”
Delta’s expansion will boost local economies in both the U.S. and Brazil. The additional flight’s will help the growing tourism and commercial interests between the two countries.
