Is it true what they say? There are only 2 types of people in this world – those who are Irish and those who wish they were!!!
- A real Irish man/woman DOESN’T arrive in another country on business or pleasure and seek out the nearest Irish bar – we actually enjoy travelling and like to soak up other cultures.
- We DON’T try the first pint of Guinness in just any establishment. Any real Irish person that drinks Guinness will only drink it in certain places and that includes when at home, we are actually extremely fussy about our pint and won’t drink it just anywhere – it has to be the perfect pint or why bother!
- It isn’t that easy being Irish as wherever we go we are always expected to say “top of the morning to you” and we are begged with “please swear, just say the ’f’ word once”. We actually can string a sentence together in a sober manner from time to time!
- We love nothing more than a party – we are extremely sociable and love the ‘craic’. Our country whispers our history from the moment one lands here, if you want to talk about the British – just start a sentence about the Brits with any Irish person and you’ll never shut them up – we are great story tellers and love nothing more than to regale you with our tales of woe.
A typical St Patrick’s Day:-
Wake up early and get your work done with quick,
So you can hit the town and drink away the day – oh how sick!
~
Head to the nearest bar to meet up with a mate,
Drink your favourite pint until it’s very late!
~
Watch hundreds walk on by dressed up draped from head to toe in the colour green,
Think ‘what idiots’ sure it’s only another day, while life is becoming a blurry dream!
~
You drink the black stuff or whatever your tipple until you can’t stand up anymore,
You think you’re invincible while you try to Irish dance with tourists on the floor!
~
One may head to Dublin to see the parade walk on by, take out their children for the spin,
Or maybe head into the bookies and take a punt on a horsey and pray for a big win!
~
Whatever an Irish man or woman decides to do on our big day,
You can be sure, everyone wants to be Irish or is that only what they say?
