Now that you have determined your market(s), it is time to assess pricing, promotion and distribution to the customers in your target market(s).

For government assistance to find buyers, there are several programs available – Qualified Buyers

Pricing Considerations:

  • Foreign market objectives
  • Costs
  • Market demand
  • Competition

Pricing summary from Basic Guide to Exporting:

  • Determine the objective in the foreign market.

  • Compute the actual cost of the export product.

  • Compute the final consumer price.

  • Evaluate market demand and competition.

  • Consider modifying the product to reduce the export price.

  • Include “non-market” costs, such as tariffs and customs fees.

  • Exclude cost elements that provide no benefit to the export function, such as domestic advertising.

Distribution:

  • Determine the distribution method for your product(s)
  • Identify the distribution channel(s) for your product

Promotion:

  • What is your budget?
  • Create a sales and promotion action plans
  • Promote your products in the Target market
  • Travel to the target market
