On Monday, the PMA (represents employers) requested that federal mediators engage in negotiations which have continued unsuccessfully with eight months of talks with the ILWU. West Coast Ports: Contract Offer
At the end of last week, the PMA sent a “new proposal” to the union. The ILWU met over the weekend and returned the proposal to the PMA with the union’s comments. The ILWU caucus began Monday morning and reviewed the proposal and is awaiting the PMA’s response. The PMA confirmed that the employers presented the union with their offer on Thursday.
